About Trello

Trello is a web-based Kanban-style project management software. Most features can be used for free but there are also paid plans for premium features.

The Product

Trello uses a combination of Boards, Lists and Cards to organize projects and tasks. It is based on the kanban approach where Cards (that mostly represent tasks or features) are moved from one list to the next as it progresses in a defined workflow. A board consists of multiple lists, which are generally used to represent the different stages of a project. The simplest and most popular setup is having lists for “To Do”, “Doing” and “Done”.

The Company

In 2017 Trello was sold to Atlassian who also runs Jira, a similar project management software.
